Websense Web Security Gateway Anywhere v7.6: Hybrid Web Tips : Backup and restore of custom PAC and block page files

Version 7.6 of Websense Web Security Gateway Anywhere supports the upload of customized PAC files or PAC file fragments and a custom block page logo to the hybrid service. These files are held in the Sync Service data directory (bin/ssdata) and are not backed up by the Websense Backup Utility, as they are not configuration files generated by Websense software.
*
Custom PAC files and fragments are located in the pac directory under the Sync Service data directory (bin/ssdata/pac by default). A full customized PAC file is called websense.pac. A customized PAC file fragment is called customfinal.pac.
*
The custom block page logo file is located in the logo directory under the Sync Service data directory (bin/ssdata/logo by default). A logo can be any file smaller than 50KB ending in .gif, .jpg, or .png.
Back up the contents of the ssdata directory manually to a location of your choice.
If you are using a customized PAC file or block page logo and run the Backup Utility in restore mode with your existing version of Web Security Gateway Anywhere, the contents of the ssdata directory remain intact, if present. This is because the restore process overwrites only the files in its archive and leaves other files unchanged.
If you use a backup to restore settings to a new or upgraded version of Web Security Gateway Anywhere, you must manually copy the ssdata directory and its contents to the Websense bin directory as soon as the restore process is complete. The config.xml file keeps a record of when Sync Service last sent a custom PAC file or block page logo to the hybrid service; if Sync Service cannot detect the required files in the ssdata directory, it assumes the files are no longer needed and sends a 'delete' message to the hybrid service.
