This webinar demonstrates methods you can use to migrate filtering policy information to a new server.

Websense Web Security components are now supported on Windows 2008 R2 (64-bit) platforms. If you plan to move your existing policy and management components to the new platform, some preparation is required to make sure that your policies, filters, clients, settings, and delegated administrators are migrated properly.

Watch a live demonstration as I migrate custom policies, filters, clients, and delegated administrators to a Windows 2008 R2 server. We will also discuss the pros and cons of the process demonstrated, and cover other migration options.

Topics to be covered include:

  • Migration concerns
  • Migration methods and paths
  • Restoring full or partial policy information
  • Steps to migrate version 7.5 policies to 7.6
  • Configuration files that you may want to move manually

This webinar builds on the practical theory provided in the recent April and May 2011 Webinars. I suggest viewing the recent webinars to gain a foundation for the concepts demonstrated in the July webinar. The previous webinars are available here:
