Support for iOS 6 features
Mobile device management enhancements were recently introduced that allow you to remotely enable or disable the following iOS features on end-user devices:
*
If you disable this feature, Photo Stream photos are erased from the user's device and photos from the Camera Roll are prevented from being sent to Photo Stream. If there are no other copies of the photos, they may be lost.
*
This is when users invite others to view their streams and can view shared photo streams. You control the use of this feature by enabling or disabling it.
*
This option is selected by default. Passbook allows merchants to develop passes to be stored in the user's Passbook. Select this option if you want to allow Passbook notifications to be displayed while the device is locked.
Automatic installation of volume purchase program (VPP) apps
You can now push apps that have been purchased by a volume purchase program (VPP) to users' devices when they register them or when profile updates are deployed, just like you can with free Apple App Store apps.
Add or delete these apps by going to General > Application Management and selecting the Purchased Apps tab.
1.
a.
You can search the App Store for the app you want to add to the system and then click Add App when you find it. (Do this on the Search App Store tab.)
b.
When you've entered the URL, click Get App Details. A popup displays the name, genre, version, device type and URL for the app that you entered. Upload the redemption file provided by Apple, then click Add App.
2.
Click OK when done.
Add or delete these apps to specific profiles on the Edit Profile page.
Please note, this feature works only for devices running iOS 5 and above.
