SharePoint Fingerprinting Wizard Site Root


Field	Description
Site root hostname	Enter the hostname of the SharePoint site root, such as http://gumby/site_name. (Note that a site is different than a folder in SharePoint. The system supports only site-level URLs for this field.) If you enter an IP address, your SharePoint administrator must add the IP address to an alternate access map. In SharePoint 2010, they should choose Central Administration > Alternate Access Mapping, and click Add Internal URLs. In SharePoint 2013, they should choose Central Administration > Configure Alternate Access Mappings > Add Internal URLs. Note that the SharePoint fingerprinter connects to site collections—such as http://intranet/sites/HR:8080—not Web applications.
User name	Enter a user name that has access to the shared folder. This must be a user with administrative rights. Read permissions are not sufficient. For best practice, enter the name of the SharePoint site owner with Full Control permissions.
Password	Enter the password for this user.
Confirm password	Enter the password again.
Domain (optional)	Optionally, enter the domain name of the user you entered above.

When you click Next on this screen, the system tries to connect to the root-site using the given credentials. You are alerted if the attempt fails.
