Setting the Web policy mode
CLI Guide | Forcepoint Appliances | v8.5.x
All machines running Web protection components connect to the policy source machine to get up-to-date policy information.

Important
For more information about the policy source and policy modes, see the Forcepoint Appliances Getting Started Guide.
set mode full
Set the policy mode to full.
set mode full
Usage guidelines
Web Security only.
The primary instance of Policy Server also runs on the policy source machine.
This mode is also known as full policy source.
set mode user
Set the policy mode to user directory and filtering.
set mode user --policy-source <off_box_ip_address>

Usage guidelines
Web Security only.
A user directory and filtering appliance is a lightweight version of the policy server.
Examples
(config)# set mode user --policy-source 10.10.10.10
set mode filter
Set the policy mode to filtering only.
set mode filter
--policy-server <off_box_ip_address>

Usage guidelines
Web Security only.
Unavailable in virtual appliance deployments.
A filtering only appliance is configured to point to a Policy Server. This works best when the appliance is close to the Policy Server and on the same network.
Examples
(config)# set mode filter --policy-server 10.10.10.10
