Overview

Watch this Webinar if you are installing a new Websense Web Security Log Database, or upgrading a v7.1 or 7.5 database to v7.6.

To start, we’ll go over the v7.6 requirements for full and express versions of Microsoft SQL Server. Microsoft has designed SQL 2008 Server R2 Express to replace MSDE, so we’ll review the changes relating to Websense software, then go over the steps required to migrate from MSDE to SQL Server 2008 R2 Express. After covering installation, we’ll move on to configuration, covering Websense Log Database and SQL Server settings, and offering best practice recommendations. We’ll also look at the reporting data flow as it passes through each Websense component in order to help you quickly identify and resolve logging issues.

Topics to be covered include:
  • Migrating MSDE databases to v7.6
  • What new in SQL Server 2008 R2 Express
  • SQL Server optimization tips
  • Required SQL Server roles and permissions
  • Tips for Websense Log Database settings
  • Understanding the flow of logging data
  • Troubleshooting SQL connection issues
  • Full Microsoft SQL Server 2008 and SQL Express demonstrations

This Webinar will help you better manage the Log Database and troubleshoot SQL connection issues.
