Supporting Documents

A complete list of the additional OS and DBMS versions, product corrections, and important known issues in 7.5.1 can be accessed through the Release Notes.

Upgrade supplements in the Technical Library explain which previous versions can be upgraded to version 7.5.1 in one step, which require two steps, and which are best handled by a fresh installation.

See the Release Notes for additional details about the following Known Issues in this release:

  • When you upgrade to v7.5.1 from v7.0.x or v7.1.x, configuration settings in mng.xml (located by default in C:\Program Files\Websense\tomcat\conf\Catalina\localhost or /opt/Websense/tomcat/conf/Catalina/localhost) are not saved. Details about how to capture these settings and bring them forward to v7.5.1 are provided in the Release Notes.

  • When you upgrade to v7.5.1 from v7.0.x or v7.1.x, custom settings for the variable PolicyServerWaitTime in websense.ini (located by default in C:\Program Files\Websense\bin) are not saved. Details about how to capture these settings and bring them forward to v7.5.1 are provided in the Release Notes.

  • When upgrading Remote Filtering Client from v7.5, the upgrade fails and an error message is displayed. Deleting specified files and reinstalling Remote Filtering Client v7.5.1 resolves this issue (see the Resolved and Known Issues document). Detailed instructions are provided in the Release Notes.

  • If your nextwork uses SQL Server clustering, you must specify the log database path on the shared disk that all SQL Servers use for failover during installation. Detailed instructions are provided in the Release Notes.

  • When Filtering Service is integrated with Content Gateway, secure manual authentication fails. Add port 15872 to the Tunnel Ports field in Content Gateway Manager to correct this. Detailed instructions for adding the port are provided in the Release Notes.

  • The following v7.5 hotfixes were not completed in time to be included in v7.5.1: 40, 41, 42, 44, 47, 51 and 52. Please watch the upcoming Hotfix update bulletins, if any of these issues are of concern at your site.
