VIRUS

DEFINITION

A virus is a piece of programming code that is self-reliant and able to replicate itself repeatedly. Some viruses are extremely harmful and destroy data. Other viruses are less damaging but can slow network performance. Many viruses are designed to pass across networks and avoid standard security systems.
