PHARMING

DEFINITION

Pharming is when a hacker makes illegal changes to a DNS server thereby directing a URL to a different website. A user intends to visit the legitimate site but is now redirected to a fraudulent counterfeit website used to elicit confidential information from the users for fraudulent purposes.
