v8.5.3 Release Notes for the Forcepoint Security Manager : New in the Forcepoint Security Manager
New in the Forcepoint Security Manager
Release Notes | Web, Data, and Email Security Solutions | 30-Nov-2018
Version 8.5.3 provides new features and corrections for Forcepoint Security solutions.
Forcepoint Security Manager in Microsoft Azure
Version 8.5.3 adds support for deploying Forcepoint Security Manager in Azure, allowing your full email protection solution to reside within the Azure cloud environment. Prior to this release, Forcepoint Security Manager was solely an on-premises solution.
Options added in version 8.5.3 for a Microsoft Azure deployment allow Forcepoint Email Security and Forcepoint DLP in addition to Forcepoint Security Manager to be deployed together in the cloud. Additional deployment options allow any of these elements to remain on-premises with connection to Azure.
See Installing Forcepoint Email Security in Microsoft Azure for more information and installation procedures. See the Forcepoint Email Security in Azure Quick-Start Guide for a high-level overview of the installation procedure.
Redesigned interface
The Forcepoint Security Manager has been redesigned to provide better access to the menus and options you require. Instead of displaying the modules in the Security Manager as tabs across the banner, your modules are now available in a drop-down menu that indicates which modules are installed.
Supported browsers for the Security Manager
For the full list of supported browsers in this version, see the Certified Product Matrix.
When you connect to the Security Manager, you are presented with a self-signed certificate. The certificate names Forcepoint LLC as the Issuer. Because browsers do not recognize Forcepoint LLC as a known Certificate Authority, a certificate error is displayed the first time the Security Manager is launched from a new browser. To avoid seeing this error, install or permanently accept the certificate in the browser. After the security certificate is accepted, the logon page is displayed.
