Regularly back up configuration information for your Websense TRITON solution so that you can revert to a previous configuration when needed. Data saved by the backup process can also be used to transfer configuration settings to a different machine or V-Series appliance.
In most circumstances, when you use backup and restore to transfer configuration settings between servers, only same-platform transfers are supported. In other words, you can move from Windows to Windows or Linux to Linux, but not from Windows to Linux (or vice-versa).
When backing up a TRITON management server, note that there are separate backup processes for TRITON infrastructure and other components on the machine. Synchronize the TRITON infrastructure backup with the backup procedures for other components.
