Configuring network settings for the RiskVision appliance

Use the System > Network tab to configure which appliance interfaces RiskVision uses for management communication and traffic monitoring.
Interfaces in the table are described according to their Function:

The Communication/Local Manager interface is used to:

This interface must have an IP address and an Internet connection. By default, the C interface (eth0) is used.

The Traffic Capture interface is used to monitor network traffic.
This interface must be connected to a port mirror with visibility into the network or segment that you want to monitor. By default, this is the N interface (eth1).
A single interface may be configured to handle both Internet communication and traffic capture.
To change the interface used for traffic monitoring, use the Traffic capture interface drop-down list near the top of the page.
To see the MAC address for an interface, position the mouse over an entry in the Network Interface column.
Additional information is also available when you mouse over entries in the Link Status and Link Speed columns.
The image at the bottom of the page provides a reference to the physical location of each interface on the RiskVision appliance.
